What’s NSA?

I met Network Chiropractor Dr. Peg one night during the First Friday Art Tour here in Santa Cruz. I had experienced Network Chiropractic before but it was years ago. I followed my intuition and made an appointment.

The first visit involved a formal analysis of my posture and spine. That meant a bunch of digital photos of me against a grid backdrop in her downtown Santa Cruz office. I also completed an extensive physical and emotional health questionnaire, along with an interview. Then we did the first “entrainment” (the name for an NSA treatment).

I’ve been “opening up” ever since. What does that mean?  Read on …

Network, otherwise known as Network Spinal Analysis, or NSA, is a healing modality in which “gentle precise touches to the spine cue the brain to create new wellness promoting strategies.”

According to Dr. Dominic Smorra, there are three levels of patient care in NSA. Level One, “Awaken Care,” involves the brain searching for tension and releasing it. Level Two is known as “Transform Care,” and involves emerging movement strategies orchestrated by the brain. Level Three involves what’s known as the “Network Wave.”

NSA, along with Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI), also offered by many NSA practitioners, can offer a range of benefits, according to Dr. Smorra, including “self-awareness and conscious awakening of the relationships between the body, mind, emotion and expression of the human spirit.” Dr. Smorra goes on to say: “as you learn to trust your body and its many rhythm’s, you will feel increasingly safe and comfortable living in it.”

And that’s the kind of thing I’ve been experiencing.

After several sessions with Dr. Peg the tension I’ve been holding (as she explained to me, to protect myself from old perceived threats) is dissipating, resulting in greater openness, peace and a generally more relaxed feeling.  It may be coincidence—though I don’t think so—but relationships and financially opportunities are also opening up in my life.

I don’t know exactly how NSA works, it just does. And I can feel it more than anything I can put into words. Will NSA help you experience greater emotional and physical health? There’s one way to find out.
